Bob Ellis was appointed Director of Army/Navy/Marine Corps Business Development for CymSTAR in October 2023.
With over 37 years of work experience in the defense and aerospace industry, Bob is a proven leader of Infantry, Aerospace and Aviation Training programs and Business Development, Capture, and Proposal organizations. Before CymSTAR, he was the Sr. Director of Capture and Proposals at CAE USA, where he led the department responsible for over 400 proposals and $1B of annual sales.
His operational management experience included many complex International and domestic Training Services programs in areas such as Israel, Taiwan, the UK and throughout the United States, and he served as the onsite Program Manager for the Royal Australian Navy's MH-60R Seahawk Simulation and Warfare Centre in New South Wales, Australia.
Prior to working at CAE USA, Bob served as a Program Manager for Vertex Aerospace, where he led a team of over 700 employees in support of the 1st Cavalry and 4th Infantry Divisions at Ft. Hood, Texas. Preceding that, he was the Production Supervisor of PATRIOT Missile teams for Raytheon Aerospace at Ft. Bliss, Texas.
Bob has served in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman, in the Army as a PATRIOT Missile Technician, and in the Air Force as a C-130 and a C-5 Crew Chief.
He studied labor relations and Collective Bargaining at Cornell University and graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in business management from AIU. He has a wife of 37 years, three children, three grandchildren, and a passion for high-performance experimental airplanes.
